In June of 2021, I met with an elder in my church to share with him some articles I had written while studying the Bible. This may sound odd, but I didn’t write the articles to publish, but to help me with my own personal Bible study. I love to write and I love to study the Bible. After looking at some of the articles, he encouraged me to post them on Facebook so others could read them too.
Well, I had gotten off of social media a few years prior because of all the stress and infighting on the platforms, even among those who claimed to be Christians, so I didn’t eagerly jump at the chance to post my writings. That said, I take my submission to elders very seriously, especially since they watch over my soul and will give account of their oversight of me to the Chief Shepherd. So, I reluctantly started to post my articles to Facebook.
I decided to post one a week, on Tuesdays. When I announced this, a friend commented, “Tuesdays With Tony” and the name stuck. So, for over a year, I posted my articles every Tuesday and also posted short observations or lessons I gleaned from my daily Bible readings between these weekly posts.
This book is a compilation of all my Tuesdays With Tony posts from Facebook and those observations I posted between my Tuesdays posts. I have compiled them in this Volume 1 in book form. They cover my Facebook posts from June 2021 – May 2022. I have divided each post with this visual divider:
The actual Tuesdays With Tony (TWT) posts have titles and are listed in the Table of Contents page at the beginning of the book. Some non-TWT posts are short and others are nearly as long as the featured posts, but there is no rhyme or reason to what topics I post on. I simply post about the things on my mind as I write. I use the ESV version throughout my book and paste exactly as copied from the Blue Letter Bible program I use.
It is my prayer that these writings help encourage you and strengthen your faith. You are free to share my work in any format and for any purpose without seeking permission. I only ask that you do not attribute anything to me that I didn’t write. Aside from that, you need not give me any attribution when you use my work found in this book. If God gets the glory from anything that I produce, that is reward enough for me.
What is found in this book is pretty much the exact way I posted these things on Facebook, with edits made as I catch them. I have also attempted to present everything in the book in the same order that I posted on Facebook.
Thank you for your interest in spiritual things and thank you for your support through your purchase of this book. May we all help each other make the journey to our heavenly home together.
Tony Eldridge
