What do you say to Jesus when your failure is undeniable?

Peter promised he would stay, even if everyone else left. But under pressure, he denied three times that he knew Jesus.

After the resurrection, Jesus met Peter beside the Sea of Galilee and asked three times whether he loved Him.

Peter could not point to courage or defend his record. He could only place what remained true into the hands of the One who knew him:

“Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” John chapter twenty-one, verse seventeen.

Peter’s confession was affection and allegiance. He was saying, “I failed You, but I have not chosen another Lord. You still have my heart. You still have my yes.”

Jesus received that love and called it forward:

“Feed my sheep.”

“Follow me.”

Failure was not permission to stay the same. Love returned to Jesus and served the people He placed in Peter’s care.

Maybe today is not about proving you have never failed, but asking whether Jesus still has your heart and your yes.
